    Quartz Mountain Gold Project, Draft Environmental Impact Statement, Lakeview, Oregon: Managed collection and integration of 13 subcontracted discipline sections for USDA Forest Service Preliminary EIS for proposed mine on Fremont National Forest in Oregon. Coordinated with Forest Service Interdisciplinary team to assure NEPA compliance and consistency throughout document production. Work performed for Galactic Services, Inc. and the USDA Forest Service – Fremont National Forest.

    Ivanhoe Gold Mine, Draft Amended Environmental Assessment – Drilling Program, Winnemucca, Nevada: Managed and prepared draft amended EA for a 1,500-acre exploratory drilling program located 90 miles north of Winnemucca, Nevada. Administered subcontractors' work on cultural resources, topography, soils, vegetation, wildlife, and unique and other biotic resources sections. Work performed for Ivanhoe Gold Company and USDI BLM, Elko Resource Area.

    Robinson Mine Project, 1993 Revised Plan of Operations (POO), White Pine County Nevada: Responsible for updating and technical editing of Robinson Mine Plan of Operations (POO) prepared to provide BLM with a description of the proposed project, including planned reclamation activities, and to aid BLM in determining the potential for environmentally significant impacts to occur.

  • Program Management Projects

    City of Reno, Public Works Department, ReTRAC Project, Reno, Nevada: Mr. Demuth was retained by the Public Works Department to provide Project Management Environmental Services including all necessary task associated with NEPA, planning, permitting, and implementing all regulatory and code compliance standards, and assuring that all mitigation measures included in the Reno Railroad Corridor ($186 million dollar construction project) EIS Record of Decision (ROD) are fully implemented.

    Ivanhoe Gold Mine, Production Water Program, Winnemucca, Nevada: Managed $1.3 million production water procurement project during the preconstruction and construction of the Ivanhoe Gold Mine. Accountable directly to mine manager of Ivanhoe Gold Company and responsible for the exploration, drilling and production of five water wells. The three-phase program consisted of completion of existing drilled production wells with production pumps; contract design of pipeline, storage tanks, and delivery system; production drilling of two additional water wells; airlift pump testing; equipping with pumps and totalizing meters; and initiating and administering an exploration drill program of more than 10,000 feet of borehole in search of water for future needs.

    Ivanhoe Gold Mine, Water Rights Permitting Program, Winnemucca, Nevada: Managed the permitting strategy for 331.2-million-gallon water rights program for production water for Ivanhoe Gold Mine.

    City of Reno Annexation Program, Washoe County, Nevada: The Environmental Team consisting of Stantec and MADCON completed an annexation program to annex 38 separate county islands within the City of Reno. Work performed for Stantec, Inc. and the City of Reno, Community Development Department.

  • SWPPPs

    CR Briggs Corporation – Briggs Project, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan for Construction Activities, Inyo County, California: Managed and prepared SWPPP for construction activities for proposed project consisting of the construction and operation of an open pit gold and silver mining operation, associated heap leaching facility, and ancillary facilities. The SWPPP requires implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) to control and abate the discharge of pollutants in storm water discharges constitute compliance with Best Available Technology Economically Available (BAT) / Best Conventional Pollutant Control Technology (BCT) requirement and with requirements to achieve water quality standards. The SWPPP consists of detailed descriptions of the project background, site characteristics, facility information and construction activities, best management practices, periodic evaluation and reporting, and plan certifications.

  • Siting Proposals

    State of Nevada's Response to Department of Energy's Invitation for Site Proposals for the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC): 13 Volume Application, Near Winnemucca, Nevada: Provided project management on the editing and document / graphics production of the State of Nevada's response to the DOE's invitation for site proposals for the Super Conducting Super Collider (SSC) project being considered at the time by the DOE, involving the design and construction of a federal research laboratory to conduct experiments in high energy physics. Work completed for the Nevada Commission on Economic Development and the U.S. Department of Energy.
