At the University of Nevada, Reno, Mr. Demuth teaches Environmental Policy and Law creating an upper-division course on NEPA that he has been teaching since 2006. Mr. Demuth was appointed in 2010 to the faculty of the National Geothermal Academy and has taught upper-division courses on Geothermal Policy and Law during the academy’s inaugural summer 2011, summer 2012, and summer 2013 sessions.

UNR/GBI NEPA Grant.

The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Eldorado, Humboldt-Toiyabe, Inyo, Lassen, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, Plumas, Sequoia, Six Rivers, and Umpqua National Forests (NFs) are proposing 10 projects to provide community wildfire protection, fuels reduction, hazard tree removal, and fire recovery to meet USFS forest health objectives and enact community protection measures. GBI has enetered into an agreement with UNR and more specifically Mr. Demuth, as the NEPA Program Management Consultant (NPMC) to provide overall NEPA program management services and oversight of the preparation of the 11 NEPA projects and documents: ENF Caldor Fire Project EA, ENF Mosquito Fire EA, HTNF East Humboldt Ruby/Mountains Fuels Reduction Project EA, LNF Dixie Postfire Restoration and Recovery Project EA, LTBMU Caldor Fire Restoration EA, LTBMU Forest Health in Developed Recreation Sites NEPA Project, PNF Plumas Community Protection Project EA, SQF French Fire Restoration EA, SQF Sugarloaf CE, SRNF Hazardous Fuels and Fire Management Project NEPA document, and UMP Umpqua Assessment, Disaster Recovery, and Forest Restoration NEPA Project. Mr. Demuth is also providing support to Whitebark Institute’s Easter Sierra Climate & Communities Resilience Project EA for the INF.
